Through the innovative online format, the journal will be able to include sound and video recordings that will enhance the experience of the reader, providing concrete examples of the topics explored.
Shell Center for Sustainability funds new research (12/14/2007)Rice scientists will explore new ways to produce fuel economically and reduce the impact on the environment, thanks to grants from the Shell Center for Sustainability (SCS). Four projects received grants to further the center's goals of creating an interdisciplinary program of research, outreach and education to address actions that will ensure the sustainable development of living standards, including factors affecting quality of life and environmental resources. The four projects selected involve areas of biofuels impact, sustainability of power generation, production and deployment of biodiesel and carbon sequestration.
Rice student named Mitchell Scholar: Senior political science major to study in Ireland (12/14/2007)Rice University senior Tyler Dillard, Lovett College, received a prestigious 2008 George J. Mitchell Scholarship. Dillard is one of only 12 students to be named a Mitchell Scholar. He will leave for Ireland in August to pursue his master's in human rights at Queen's University in Belfast.
