The Gateway Program provides undergraduate students opportunities to put what they learn in the classroom to work in real life through co-curricular programs focused on developing research and professional skills for life after Rice. From shadowing a federal court judge in their chambers, to serving as a consultant for a local business, or conducting cutting edge research in the Texas Medical Center the experiences we provide are opportunities for students to gain a professional edge. Thus, by the time they graduate students have an idea what it takes to become leaders in their fields. Click on the links below to learn more about each program.
Gateway awards travel grants of up to $250 (depending on availability of funds) to undergraduate students in the Social Sciences at Rice who are presenting a paper or a poster as a first author at a conference. Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis. Click here for further information.
