School of Social Sciences to host the first Research Relay of the 2026-2027 Academic year

Returning for another year, the School of Social Sciences will host a Research Relay on Monday, September 14. The relays serve to showcase new research led by social sciences faculty and to foster cross-disciplinary collaborations.

“The Research Relays have become a staple series for the School of Social Sciences,” said Pat DeLucia, associate dean for research. “They continue to have a great turnout and, moreover, have fostered multiple partnerships that are steering innovative research in various fields.”

The upcoming Research Relay will feature four new social sciences faculty, including:

Each speaker will have four minutes to present their research. Afterward, attendees are encouraged to mingle with the speakers over a boxed lunch.

“The School has substantially grown in recent years, with the addition of numerous dynamic faculty,” said Rachel Kimbro, dean of the School of Social Sciences. “I look forward to seeing our newest faculty share their cutting edge research with the Rice community at the upcoming Research Relay.”
